Meet Dr. Maddie Naughton PT, DPT
Perinatal, pregnancy & postpartum care, women’s and men’s health, and transgender care
I have never been known to have a shortage of questions. From a young age, I always wanted to know the why. Not only did I love learning, but I knew early on I wanted to be a teacher. Over time, I realized that some of the most meaningful education I received didn’t happen in a classroom, it was at the grocery store with my mom or at a tennis practice with my friends. Learning was woven into everyday moments, and I craved understanding how things worked.
That realization, understanding how education takes many forms, led me to pursue physical therapy. PT school not only allowed me to ask all of my questions, but encouraged me to. During my final year of physical therapy school, I took an introductory pelvic health course where everything clicked. I found a specialty that allowed me to blend lifelong learning, patient education, and genuine connection. Pelvic health is often overlooked and under-discussed, and I am passionate about creating a space where people feel heard, respected, and supported.
I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy and went on to complete a Women’s and Pelvic Health Residency at Saint Louis University, which allowed me to expand my skills in working with people of all ages and all genders with pelvic health concerns. My approach is collaborative with an emphasis on clear communication at every step of the way. I prioritize thorough assessments and early education so that each person I work with feels informed and empowered to take control of their care. With a background in personal training, I value the role of thoughtful and appropriate exercise as a tool to help people feel stronger and more confident in their bodies.
When I am not thinking about the pelvis, you can find me on long walks with my dog, reading psychological thrillers, or exploring new restaurants with my boyfriend. As a new WI resident, I am always looking for recommendations for new coffee shops and fun activities!
