Pelvic pain can make it challenging to live the kind of life you desire, interfering with your ability to work, exercise, or have sex. Our pelvic floor physical therapists can help rehabilitate pelvic pain, and support you on your journey back to pelvic health and wellness.

What is Pelvic Pain?

Pelvic pain includes discomfort anywhere below your belly button and between your hip bones (including lower abdominal pain and low back pain). For many, the pain can vary. It can be constant or intermittent, a dull ache or a sharp pain. Many people find that the pain is intensified while walking, running, using the stairs, sitting, getting up from a chair, having sex, and inserting a tampon.

Pelvic pain is also linked to gynecologic problems, including Endometriosis and Adenomyosis, and other conditions affecting the intestines, bladder, and pelvic floor. This includes Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Vulvodynia, Vaginismus, Interstitial Cystitis, chronic Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs), and bladder pain.

  • I have been seeing Dr. Lauryn Beecher for chronic pelvic floor pain for about three months. She is the best pelvic floor physical therapist I've ever encountered! I've had the condition since 2017. I used to live in Los Angeles and met with several PFPT's there. I also have worked with two here. Some were okay, some were good. Lauren takes PFPT to another level of understanding, approach and technique. She spends time to explain what she is doing and why. She has a pelvic floor model that helps me understand my body. I love her new office space in Whitefish Bay. Her PT table is heated which really helps me to relax.

  • “Lauryn helped me get through horrible back and hip pain post-pregnancy. She had me walking again within 2 weeks of the birth. Prior, I was confined to the couch and not able to lift my baby out of the bassinet. She had immediate solutions and activities to improve me strength and put things back in place.”
