Menopause Physical Therapy

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy for Menopause & Perimenopause

Begin This New Phase Healthy, Strong, and Active

Hormones can cause changes in your muscles, including the pelvic floor, especially just before and during menopause. Our physical therapists can help relieve or prevent common perimenopause concerns such as weakness, painful sex, urinary incontinence, urinary frequency/urgency, and pelvic organ prolapse.

Menopause and Your Pelvic Floor

For many of us, menopause is accompanied by several physical changes or symptoms.  A decline in estrogen and progesterone, coupled with the normal physiological aging process, may cause pelvic floor concerns such as fecal or urinary incontinence, urinary frequency/urgency, constipation, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, painful intercourse, or sexual dysfunction.

Pelvic floor physical therapy for menopause can help relieve or prevent many of these symptoms. It can also be used after hysterectomy and prolapse repair to help regain strength, help or prevent leaking, and decrease the risk of prolapsing.

If you are experiencing incontinence, urinary urgency, painful sex, or other symptoms of menopause, our physical therapists can help! We offer customized treatments to address your concerns so you can feel healthy, strong, and confident throughout your menopause journey.
